Firestone had a major presence at the fair, having developed and economical process to manage rubber try plantations and harvest those trees and convert them to tires and a variety of other materials needed to create our modern lifestyle.

The Factory and Exhibition Building featured lifelike dioramas demonstrating the steps in the gathering and preparing liquid rubber on rubber tree plantations, prior to shipment of the rubber to the United States for the manufacture of tires and other rubber products.

To American's, this story must have seemed exotic and intriguing.  Today we are used to a variety of synthetic products -- it is difficult to imagine the impact of that such exhibit would have today.  Also featured were:

Firestone Building

Firestone Singing Fountain
