How Children Grow

Children are not miniature adults.  We all need to remember that many grown-ups have a hard time behaving the way we expect, much less our children.  Learning to act like adults takes years of watching, copying, and making mistakes.  Because they are children, little Bobby and Susie can be immature and undependable.  Baby Mary cries and we will never really know why.  Here are some ideas to help you cope with the changes in your child.

Child Discipline

So you have told your child a hundred times to “STOP DOING THAT!”  When talking to your child about behavior is not effective, what do you do next?  We all want our children to develop healthy attitudes towards themselves and others.  We need to discipline children for 2 reasons:

*   To keep behavior within safe limit

*   To teach behavior and limits that dome from the conscience and heart.  In other words, self-discipline.

Here are some ideas to help you effectively discipline your child effectively.

Dealing with an Angry Child

Anger is a fact of like.  We get angry; so do our children.  This can be one of the hardest parts of parenting.  Little Bobby or Susie doesn’t understand how these feelings build up inside us.  When children get angry, it is often from other feelings that the child can’t identify.  It is normal to feel angry just like it is normal to feel hunger, happiness, or sadness.  We all have a right to feel angry.  Aggression, however, is turning anger into an attempt to hurt someone or destroy something.  Understanding this difference is the first step in dealing with an angry child.  Here are some ideas to help deal with an angry child.
