MS Word:  Today's computers are powerful writing tools.  Like it or not, computer technology is here to stay and the software becomes better with each new release.  We can teach writing skills with MS Word -- here's how to get started.

Troublesome Words.  Functional writing skills used to be taught in Business Education classes.  The highly skilled secretaries and the old "typing pool" were responsible for the grammar and spelling of ALL business documents.  Somehow, we have gotten away from this.  I built this activity around an old typewriting lesson.

Functional Commas.  Properly applying commas rules from many English textbooks appears to be beyond many of my students.  We can simplify the writing process by teaching students to use commas functionally.  All of my students are able to apply these simple comma rules.
