Here are some PowerPoint projects I have created.  They are formatted here to be viewed in 4rth generation browsers (i.e. Internet Explorer 4.0 or later).  While each slide in these presentations is fully animated, To advance to the next slide, click on the slide title in the frame on the left.

ONLY THE FIRST AND LAST SLIDES OF EACH PRESENTATION HAVE A LINK BACK TO THIS PAGE.  To return, click on the yellow star "Back to Mr. Breitsprecher's Portfolio."

Real-World Skills.  This presentation focuses on the main theme behind all my computer classes:  Preparing Students for Success After High School.

Keyboarding:  A Valuable Skill.  Some school districts have dropped keyboarding classes.  Ergonomic habits are still appropriate topics to discuss.  Here are some of the reasons that keyboarding skills are useful to students.

Computer Literacy.  Communicating curriculum to students and parents allows them to make informed choices about classes.  This presentation reviews the importance of computer skills.

The Stock Market.  When teaching spreadsheets, I always start the class by having students choose a portfolio of stocks.  We track the value of that portfolio over the course of the semester and I give prizes for the top performing and worst performing portfolio.  We really have a lot of fun with it and we are reinforcing authentic computer skills.  Here I review some fundamentals of the stock market.

Accounting.  When I teach students about business software, like Excel, I try to introduce some of the career paths that utilize that software.  This presentation is about the accounting profession.  I used graphics from a popular TV show to get students' attention -- it really worked.

Marketing 101.  Originally, I made this presentation for a week long college prep summer camp at UW-Whitewater.  When we reviewed graphics and advertising layouts in my desktop publishing class, we looked at this presentation to examine how advertising segments markets.

News Layouts.  This presentation introduces students to multi-column, news layouts.  I use this unit to integrate graphics and advanced software features, page layouts, and writing skills.  This slide show introduces my Computer Times assignment (see my Desktop Publishing class portfolio).

Puffery of Advertising.  Once we reviewed how markets are segmented, this PowerPoint presentation explains how the language of advertising is used to motivate us to buy.

Excel Halloween Review.  My fall classes were working with Excel over Halloween, so I put together this presentation to have some fun and reinforce the curriculum.  I have another springtime theme version of this review.

Halloween Animations.  I created this presentation to introduce my students to animated gifs and PowerPoint.  Each student made their own version of this slide show -- they were really great and a splendid time was had by all.

State Line Dance Club.  This presentation reviews charting with PowerPoint.  This is an HTML version of the slide show.  Viewed in PowerPoint, the graphs are animated.
