I try to incorporate "real-world" projects into my classes.  Jeanne Erickson, at the Wisconsin Council of Children and Families, and I have worked together on some projects.  This collaboration provides her with material she can use with educators and students.  My students get authentic projects for their portfolios.  If you would like to work on a collaborative project, please contact me.

Brain Basics:  Child Development.  I put this together for my desktop publishing class and gave a copy to the parenting class.  It covers the basics of WCCF's brain development curriculum, Great Beginnings.

10 Things That Every Child Needs.  This is an interactive Web page that was created with PowerPoint.  Each slide is fully animated.  Click on the outline in the left frame to advance to another slide.  Because this is the example that I used in class, THERE ARE LIMITED LINKS BACK TO THIS PAGE.  You may need to use your browser's BACK button to return.

Brain Matters:  Substance Abuse Newsletter  Jeanne gives presentations about substance abuse and how it affects the brain.  Here are links to some of the handouts that I have created for her.  I use them as authentic projects for my desktop publishing class.
